Celebrations as 14 visitors reach MurushashaOmushana Admin |
During August FOURTEEN visitors came with us to Murushasha Community Nursery and Primary School! This year Omushana has been assisting Murushasha to purchase adjacent land so that the school can expand as well as helping with agricultural projects to enhance sustainability and provision of basic materials and equipment as well as books and blackboards. Murushasha School also received one of our 2017 water tanks. So the August visit was a great chance to celebrate and everyone enjoyed the dancing.
Due to its location in a particularly remote and poor district adjacent to Bwindi Forest, the local community struggle to pay fees for the children and so Murushasha School struggles to make ends meet. Fees are only £3 per term but even so, this is a great challenge for many families. But the local community does all it can to support the school including constructing classrooms and fundraising for the land purchase. Omushana will continue to work with them to develop this school which provides such a vital opportunity for over 200 children that would not otherwise have any chance to go to school.
