Omushana will soon open its SECOND Community Library!
10 Oct 2017

Thanks to funding from the British Foreign School Society (BFSS), Omushana is now well on the way to opening its second Community Library close to Bwindi Forest. The new library will be at Ruhija village and we are working closely with the village's Community Development Association (the Ruhija Community Gorilla Tourism Development Association). The land and a building have been purchased and we are starting the renovation and refurbishment work later this month. Approximately 1000 books are already in Uganda waiting for the completion of these works. It's hoped the library will open in early 2018.

Thanks to funding from the British Foreign School Society (BFSS), Omushana is now well on the way to opening its second Community Library close to Bwindi Forest.  The new library (see above) is in Ruhija village and we are working closely with the village's Community Development Association (the Ruhija Community Gorilla Tourism Development Association) - representatives can be seen above outside the new library.

The land and building have now been purchased and we are starting the renovation and refurbishment work later this month.

Approximately 1000 books are already in Uganda waiting for the completion of these works.  It's hoped the library will open in early 2018 with a full time librarian.

We have some funding to provide solar power and laptops as well as books and are hoping to reach our funding targets so that this library becomes a vital resource in this community serving Ruhija and many surrounding villages.
